A Packo CIP unit and tanks for liquid egg processing at Erne Eggs (Ireland)

'Erne Eggs' Ltd is the largest producer and packer of shell eggs in Ireland. In order to take advantage of an increasing market for processed eggs the company embarked on a major investment to construct and equip a new processing facility to produce liquid egg products. The new processing facility is a state of the art egg pasteurisation plant designed and manufactured by 'Ovobel' and 'Packo Inox' of Belgium.

The facility uses the latest technology and equipment to produce a range of quality pasteurised egg products. The projected throughput is approximately 50 tonnes of egg per week. The company’s main market is the food service sector in Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland with particular emphasis on sauce manufacturers and bakeries.

The project will increase the shelf-life of products and should benefit the environment by increased efficiency and reductions in waste water and waste in general.

Packo Inox developed and produced for this project a CIP unit with 5 compartments where the pasteurized and non pasteurized cleaning is separated to avoid contamination. Furthermore, Packo Inox delivered for this project 3 holding tanks en 2 mixing tanks to mix salt into the liquid egg.

Packo Inox, in partnership with Ovobel, is proud to be a leader in the development of the liquid egg industry worldwide.
