Minister Geert Bourgeois visits Packo Inox in Zedelgem

On 25 June 2008 Packo Inox had the honour to welcome the Flemish Minister for Development Cooperation, Geert Bourgeois, for a working visit.

The Minister was introduced to our company which is strong in designing, manufacturing and installing of amongst others milk processing lines for less developed countries, mainly in Africa.

The Minister was impressed by the positive impact these projects have on the employment and quality of life of the local population.

To strengthen the market position in the World, the Flemish Government, Department Europe Economics, gives the possibility to Flemish companies (SME’s) to export investment goods to the less developed countries. A grant of 35 to 50% of the contract amount can be awarded and is fully transferred to the investor.

The past few years, Packo Inox has by means of this grant system supplied and installed a number of milk processing lines, e.g. in Uganda, Kenya, Senegal. The most recent project, supported by the Flemish Government, has been started up in 2007 in Ethiopia. The dairy will be officially opened this autumn (2008). Because the Flemish Government presents an important share in this realisation, Minister Bourgeois will be invited to celebrate this festive occasion.

The visit of Minister Bourgeois to Packo Inox was a first acquaintance with our company, our activities and our mission, prior to a possible journey to Ethiopia.
